Shooting of the film started in April 2015. The film has been shot in Mumbaiand sets were re-intended to portray Ahmedabad ghettos. The last calendar of the film with Khan and the entire starcast was shot in Gujarat in January 2016. ABOUT RAEES MOVIE The film was shot in Bhuj and Ahmedabad in January – February 2016. There was a freedom issue by Archeological Survey of Indiafor shooting at Ahmedabad at the old mosque and tomb complex, Sarkhej Roza. A few scenes were additionally shot in Mumbai.
